Fatma Samoura, who worked on United Nations projects for 21 years before becoming the first-ever African and woman to hold the role of Secretary General at FIFA in its 116-year history, was joined by fellow Hall of Fame honourees Mary Barra, Chairman and CEO of General Motors and Ginni Rometty, Executive Chairman of IBM, at the online 2020 IWF Hall of Fame Awards Gala.

Secretary General of world football –ruling body, FIFA, Ms Fatma Samoura arrived in Nigeria on Saturday, ahead of more than 20 Presidents of FIFA’s Member Associations across the African continent for Monday’s 2nd AITEO-NFF Football Awards taking place at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Ready to greet the plane were VIP guests such as FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura, FIFA Legend and 2002 World Cup winner Gilberto Silva, FIFA Ambassador for the Trophy Tour Victoria Lopyreva and Japan Football Association President Kozo Tashima.
