Suntai dissolves cabinet, appoints new SSG, Chief of Staff

Governor Danbaba Suntai of Taraba State has dissolved the state executive council and appointed a new Secretary to the State Government and a new Chief of Staff, Government House.
Silvanus Giwa, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, announced the dissolution and new appointments at a news conference on Wednesday in Jalingo, the state capital.
Giwa named the outgoing Commissioner for Justice, Timothy Kataps, as the news SSG, and Alhaji Aminu Jika as the new Chief of Staff, adding that the appointments were with immediate effect.
Giwa, who said that he was speaking on the orders of Suntai, said all Commissioners and Special Advisers have been relived of their appointments.
He passed the governor’s message of appreciation to the outgoing Commissioners and Special Advisers for their services to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
The State House of Assembly had on Tuesday announced that the Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar, would continue to act in that capacity until Suntai was able to appear before the lawmakers to confirm that the transmitted letter to the House on his return from medical treatment abroad was genuine.
