Reports reaching The Eagle Online has it that shooting is yet to abate in Zaria area of Kaduna State after the clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and the Nigerian Army.
It was learnt that for the better part of Saturday evening and in the early hours of Sunday, gunshots were heard in Zaria.
Area mostly affected, reports said, was Gyellesu.
As at 6:25am, the shots were still loudly heard in the area and other areas of Zaria.
Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, led by Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, on Saturday clashed with operatives of the Nigerian Army.
The Army said it reacted to an attempted murder attack on the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai.
Buratai was said to be on his way for an official assignment when he was allegedly attacked.
Three members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, who are of the Shiite sect, were officially reported dead while sources put the number at much more.
