Sheriff not sacked by Court – Oladipo

Prof. Adewale Oladipo, the National Secretary to the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, has said that Sheriff was not sacked by any court order.
This was contained in a statement signed by Oladipo and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the attention of the party had been drawn to reports circulating in the media that a Federal Capital Territory High Court had ousted Sheriff, the disputed the national chairman of the PDP.
He described the report as completely false and a clear misrepresentation of the ruling of the court, saying it never gave any ruling ousting Sheriff.
Oladipo said: “For the avoidance of doubt, the court only heard and delivered judgment on a matter concerning certain amendments in the PDP constitution.
“This has nothing to do with the election of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the National Chairman or even that of his predecessor, Alhaji Adamu Muazu.”
Oladipo said Sheriff was duly elected as the national chairman of the party and “still holds office as the national chairman.
“We therefore urge those misleading the media and the unsuspecting public to desist from such.
“The media is also urged to always cross-check their facts before going to press.”
