The announcement of the vacation, which ends on September 26, 2023, was announced after the Senate president listed the chairmanship of the Senate’s various committees.
He noted that at the end of plenary, a token will be sent to the lawmakers to enjoy their holidays.
He said: “In order to enable you enjoy your holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clerk of the National Assembly.”
However, no sooner did he make the statement than he withdrew it because of some background noise.
He said instead: “Distinguished Senators, in order for you to enjoy your holidays, the Senate president has sent some prayer points to your mail boxes.”
