A former representative of Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Smart Adeyemi, has distanced himself from an interview in which he was alleged to have criticised President Bola Tinubu and his party, the All Progressives Congress.
Senator Adeyemi reacted to the interview, which he described as completely false and entirely fabricated in a statement on Tuesday.
He said: “My attention has just been drawn to an unfortunate publication making the rounds which has been attributed to my person.
“Let me state categorically that this publication is completely false and entirely fabricated.
“Apart from being a committed member of the APC, I have been and remain a strong believer of his Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“During the campaign, I was in twenty-six states of the Nation to lend my voice and support to a good course.

“His Excellency, President Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, was extremely instrumental to my career and played an undeniable role in who I am today.
“I have neither granted any interview nor held any press conference addressing any issue and I therefore challenge those who have alleged this to prove where this purported interview or utterance was made.
“This is clearly a calculated and malicious attempt by my political enemies to create discord, disaffection in a bid that this Government does not recognise me.
“It is my belief that the intent behind this publication is clear and obvious and should be disregarded completely.
“My position on the president and the government is clear, unambiguous.
