No fewer than ten governors have reportedly arrived in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, for the meeting of the Southern Governors’ Forum.
It was learnt that the meeting is being held at the Presidential Lodge, Ibara Housing, Abeokuta.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Chairman of Southwest Governors’ Forum, led the pack of early callers at the meeting and was received by the host Governor, Dapo Abiodun.
Other Governors who have arrived are: Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti State), Alex Otti (Abia State), Godwin Obaseki (Edo State), Ademola Adeleke (Osun State), Bassey Otu (Cross River State)
Also present on ground are, Deputy Governors, Chinyere Ekomaru (Imo State), Monday Onyeme (Delta State) and Olayide Adelami (Ondo State).

Governors from all the 17 Southern States are expected at the meeting.
Though the agenda of the meeting is not known yet, the Southern Governors are meeting for the first time after the death of Rotimi Akeredolu, former Governor of Ondo State, who was the chairman of the forum until his demise.
It was also gathered that the forum has not elected a new chairman after Akeredolu’s death in December 2023.
