The Akwa Ibom State Governor and the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum, Barrister Godswill Akpabio, has expressed the hope that in the next few weeks the stakeholders in the PDP from states in the South West would be totally reconciled.
Akpabio, who stated this when he addressed newsmen at the end of the PDP Governors’ Forum meeting held in Abuja, said the reconciliation was in top gear.
He said: “We have received the report of Governor Shehu Shema’s Committee from the South West.
“It was an Interim report that showed clearly that major work had been done.
“All the states in the South West and the stakeholders met with the committee.”
Akpabio told newsmen that the Forum also received the security report of the five-man committee headed by the Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Murtala Nyako, noting that it was a good report that x-rayed the entire security situation, beginning from the genesis of the major crisis in the country and also proffered major solutions that could bring the insecurity in the country to an end.
He said they were delighted as PDP Governors that the setting up of the committee to look at the security situation in the country was a right step in the right direction and promised to forward the report to the appropriate quarters, including President Goodluck Jonathan and the country’s security chiefs for implementation.
