Ramadan: Ahmed calls for increased prayer

The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, has charged the Muslim faithful to use the holy month of Ramadan to intensify prayer for the restoration of peace and unity in the country in the face of increasing security challenges.
In a special message to Muslims to mark the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fast, Governor Ahmed enjoined them to also use the month to show kindness and love to the less privileged in the society in order to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in the country.
Ahmed recalled that Allah made fasting compulsory for all able Muslims as an opportunity to move closer to Him and abstain from sin and show love to mankind.
The governor also advised family heads to make adequate provision for their household during the Ramadan, pointing out that Allah’s blessing and mercy awaits such family heads.
Ahmed congratulated the Muslim Ummah for being alive to witness the commencement of the Ramadan fast and reminded them that whatever good deeds they do in the holy month would be rewarded by Allah in multiple folds.
