Prime Football Club of Osogbo, Osun State has retained 17 players out of 24 that donned the colour of the club at the concluded 2014/2015 season.
The Nigeria National League side also placed seven players on the transfer market for low productivity, a club official has confirmed.
The Omoluabi Giants let go the seven players following the major shake off in the team to cut expenses and meet the aspiration of staging a return to the elite league.
The management of the Osogbo-based club on Wednesday disengaged the services of the players based on poor performance.
The club’s Chairman, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, confirmed the development to newsmen in Oshogbo.
The Osun State Pillar of Sports said the technical crew informed the management of its decision to drop the players from the team that represented the club in the NNL last season.
The affected players are Olaiya Azeez, Akorede Mamud, Abdulsalam Azeez, Wale Bello, Dauda Olalere, Bisi Olagunju and Sanmi Okeowo,.
Ogunjobi thanked the dropped players for helping the team before now and wished them success in their future endeavour, stressing that the drop became necessary following the ongoing restructuring in the club to cut expenses.
Prime ended the just concluded season fourth on the table log having missed promotion by the whiskers.
