Preparations for the successful take off of the incoming administration of Rivers State Governor-Elect, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on May 29 are in top gear as the Transition and Inauguration Committees are working round the clock to set the stage for the revival of the state.
This is even as the governor-elect himself is holding strategy meetings and consultations with professionals, technocrats, community and youth leaders to ensure that all sections of the state are carried along in the task of developing a New Rivers State.
The Transition Committee headed by the State Deputy Governor, Engineer Tele Ikuru has been working with key stakeholders to build the right frameworks for the new administration to deliver on campaign promises.
On the other hand, the inauguration committee under the leadership of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara has commenced work on critical areas to ensure the successful swearing in of Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and the relevant official ceremonies that will run with the epoch making event.
With about three weeks to the inauguration, the outgoing administration has failed to show interest in the future of the state.
Rivers State Governor-Elect, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has urged both committees to remain committed to serving the interest of the state by delivering on their terms of reference.
He said that he has the political will to fast track development across Rivers State and improve the living standard of all residents of Rivers State.
“I am happy that the two committees are working hard for a successful take off of the people anointed administration under my humble leadership.
“I assure the people of Rivers State that we have the political will and commitment to drive development across all communities in the state,” he said.
