A former Commander of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has said no one should stage any protest over the outcome of the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
He spoke in a viral video of over seven minutes in which he reviewed what happened during the elections in Delta State.
According to Tompolo, the All Progressives Congress and Labour Party did a great job by shocking the Governor of Delta State and vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the polls, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
He noted that no one should protest because Labour Party won some areas, while the All Progressives Congress took some.
He said the LP took Lagos State, while APC took theirs and they didn’t fight.
He appealed to Warri indigenes in Delta State not to be convinced by anyone to stage protest.
He stated that the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will arrange everything and they will just tell him to do theirs.
He noted that if he doesn’t do it then, they they can vote him out after four years.
Tompolo said if you want to win an election, make friends across the states, while noting that he has friends everywhere.
He noted that Dino Melaye’s boss, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP, also has friends across.
He stated that politics is lobbying, while noting that Tinubu did this for his people and they responded.
He noted that he promised his people money and if anyone tells them to protest, they should tell them to go to court or ask his children to do so.
He stated that they have done well by voting for Tinubu and they should also vote for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, in order to prevent Okowa from producing his successor.
He said the LP and APC should join hands to send Okowa out.
He reinstated that there should be no violence during the governorship and House of Assembly elections, but they should just act as if they went to watch football match in which you win some and lose some.
