The Nigerian “Third Political Force” under the auspices of the Nigeria Intervention Movement has expressed shock by the “precipitate composition of 2019 elections tribunals” barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari suspended the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
The position of the NIM was contained in a statement by the group, signed by its Director, Media Bureau, Debo Adeniyi.
The statement said: “The latest action of the Buhari regime to foist compromised election tribunals on 2019 elections has strengthened the third force mobilisation against its convergence in Lagos on Thursday, which seals our seven days ultimatum on the CJN erroneous sack by President Buhari
“With this mindless action against the Nigerian Judiciary by Buhari executive dictatorship for the purpose of winning the 2019 elections, we of the third force are left with no options than to proceed to mobilise our allies and the Nigerian people for an unprecedented mass action to quash this reckless decision of the Buhari junta until it is rescinded.
“Lastly, we commend the Intervention of the European Union and United Nations on this matter today. We wish the Buhari regime will heed their advice to redress the constitutional crisis foisted on the country.”
