Overland plane catches fire as it taxies in Abuja

One of the aircraft in the fleet of Overland Airways on Friday caught fire as it was taxiing for take-off in Abuja.
The aircraft was bound for Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The fire was spotted by one of the passengers onboard, who raised the alarm.
The pilot reportedly quickly opened the emergency doors for the passengers.
The fire was then put off.
A statement on Friday by the office of the Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards confirmed the development.
The Nigerian CIvil Aviation Authority said the incident was regrettable.
The NCAA, however, praised the response of the pilots.
