Three members of the family of two farmer kidnapped in Osun State who went to deliver the ransom for their release in Kogi State have been seized by their abductors.
Samuel Oladotun and Tobiloba Fashola were kidnapped in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State last week.
The Eagle Online recalls that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N25 million, which was negotiated downward to N6 million.
However, when three persons, led by Oladotun’s brother, Sunday, went to drop the N6 million, they were also seized by the gunmen.
This development was revealed to newsmen on Tuesday by another family member privy to the payment of the ransom.
A family member, who also identified himself as Sunday, said in Osogbo on Tuesday: “They demanded N25 million ransom, but after negotiation, they agreed to collect N6 million and requested that three people should deliver the ransom, but insisted that the negotiator, who is an elder brother to one of the victims, should be part of those that will deliver the ransom.
“They directed us to deliver it in Kogi State, but while they were in Omu Aran, Kwara State, they called again that they should go and deliver it in Epe community in Kwara State, close to Kogi State.
“After a while, they used the phone number of the elder brother who took the ransom to the place to contact us that they have collected the N6 million and detained the three people that went to deliver the ransom until we pay an additional N24 million.”
