Ondo FA bans vice-chairman, four others for five years

The Ondo State FA on Wednesday announced the ban placed on its suspended Vice-Chairman, Dele Ologbese, and four others for five years each.
The ban was contained in a communique by the association’s Secretary, Daodu Felix, and made available to newsmen at the end of its annual congress in Akure.
It said the congress ratified an earlier suspension imposed on the members.
The communique listed the other affected members to include Dotun Omoogun, Ajayi Ogidi, Ademolegun Felix and Zion Ogunfemi.
It said: “The congress passed a vote of confidence on the executive committee of the FA under the leadership of Dele Ajayi.”
The communique said the board had powers to suspend or disown any member that violates the statutes.
It added that those who indulge in any anti-football activities or insubordination, provisionally such suspensions would be ratified by the congress.
The communique also noted that the activities of the state FA’s Supporters Club under the leadership of Ologbese was alien to the FA.
It said the supporters club was not an affiliate of the FA and that its activities in the state were illegal.
Earlier at the assembly, Ajayi, the FA Chairman, commended the state government for the support being extended to the state’s football teams.
“Ajayi applauded the Nigeria Football Federation for the recognition accorded to the FA through appointments extended to its administrators, support to referees and their programmes,” the communique said.
