Ogunjobi cleared for NFF polls

A presidential aspirant of the Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, has been cleared to contest the elections.

Ogunjobi, who was earlier disqualified by the Electoral Committee due to a pending case at the Court of Arbitration for Sports, got the nod of the Appeal Committee on Sunday night to vie for the top seat at the Glass House.

Ogunjobi will slug it out with the NFF First Vice President, Chief Mike Okeke Umeh; Ambassador Chris Giwa; and some others that are yet to enter the race.

Lask week, the football house unbanned the former Secretary General of the federation, Ogunjobi and former Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Adedapo Lam-Adesina, which was part of resolutions reached during an executive committee meeting of the NFF board.

Ogunjobi and Lam-Adesina were not the only individual affected by the development as it was decided during the meeting that “in the spirit of fair-play, leading to the elections, all persons banned for various length of time, are hereby unbanned.”

Other persons unbanned were Chikelue Iloanusi and Harrison Jalla.
