Brazil 2014 World Cup-bound Super Eagles striker, Obinna Nsofor, scored twice as his Chievo Verona upsets Serie A giants, Inter Milan, by 2-1.
Both sides countered each other in attack and in defence throughout the first half.
Chievo were most unfortunate to have hit the woodwork twice as Paloschi’s header and Lazarevic’s shot both deflected out as Inter breathed sighs of relief.
Surprisingly Inter scored on its first shot on target in the 41st minute as former Chievo man, Andreolli, found the back of the net off a Taider corner kick.
The Nerazzurri defender did not celebrate his goal against his former club as a sign of respect, which the home fans appreciated with their applause.
Nsofor capitalised with 17 minutes remaining, pulling Chievo level with a low shot that Carrizo will perhaps feel he should have done better with at his near post.
There was more to come from the Nigerian, who duly secured all three points for his side with a drive from distance late on, bringing it to a 2-1 scoreline in Chievo’s favour.
The former Inter Milan striker, Nsofor, is expected to join up with the Super Eagles this week as they take on Scotland in one of their build games ahead of the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
