NSE market indices dip further

Weekly activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange opened on Monday on a bearish note as the market indicators recorded further losses.
The All-Share Index declined further by 164.82 points or 0.44 per cent to close at 37,085.11 against the 37,249.93 achieved on Friday.
Also, the market capitalisation, which opened at N11.97 trillion, lost N52 billion or 0.43 per cent to close at N11.91 trillion.
Guinness recorded the highest price loss of N6.50 to close at N265 per share.
It was trailed by Unilever with a loss of N2.99 to close at N60.01, while Nigerian Breweries dipped by N2.51 to close at N155 per share.
Conoil dropped N1 to close at N23, while Livestock Feeds lost 52k to close at N4.73 per share.
On the other hand, Nestle led the gainers’ chart by N23.89 to close at N998.89 per share.
Oando came second with 59k to close at N13.67, while FBN Holdings increased by 41k to close at N18.50 per share.
Port Paint gained 34k to close at N4.30, while Diamond Bank appreciated by 27k to close at N6.39 per share.
In all, a total of 280.69 million shares worth N2.68 billion were traded in 6,245 deals.
This was against the 750.82 million shares valued at N4.89 billion traded in 7,430 deals on Friday.
Wapic Intercontinental Insurance emerged investors’ delight, accounting for 45.10 million shares worth N42.85 million.
Avon Crown sold 33.96 million shares valued at N58.06 million, while Unity Bank traded 17.76 million shares worth N12.43 million.
