Wikki Tourists Football Club on Sunday defeated visiting Niger Tornadoes 2-1 in a Nigeria Professional Football League in Gombe.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Wikki Tourists of Bauchi are using the Pantami Stadium as home ground, pending the completion of renovation of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium, Bauchi.
Wiki secured the two goals in the 47th and 81st minute through Aminu Ahmad and Abba Umar.
The visitors had scoring chances but were only able to convert one in the 90th minute through Ismaila Sarki who scored their lone goal through a header.
Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourist later told newsmen that he was not happy with the score line, adding that the lone goal conceded by his players at the 90th minute was uncalled for.
Zubairu said his boys would have scored a goal or two at the first half, but deviated from the pattern they were known for.
He commended the good performance put up by Niger Tornadoes, adding that the boys were a very difficult side to play anytime.
The Wikki Tourists handler commended the fans in Gombe for their supports, adding that they felt at home.
Coach Bernard Ogbe of Niger Tornadoes was not available to speak after the match as the visiting team left almost immediately after the match.
NAN reports that prior to this match, both sides had played 14 matches, with Wikki Tourists winning six, Niger Tornadoes six, while two matched ended in a draw.
