NPFL: Lobi Stars beat hosts 3SC

Visiting Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi on Sunday in Ibadan beat hosts, Shooting Stars Sports Club, 1-0 in a 2015/2016 Nigerian Professional Football League Match Day 1 game.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Kingsley Eduo scored the lone goal for Lobi Stars in the 10th minute of the match.
Speaking on the defeat, 3SC’s Coach, Kadiri Ikhana, described the result as very bad, adding that they “gave the match away badly”.
Ikhana said his players failed to play well in the attack, pointing out that the eight scoring chances they had were squandered, while Lobi Stars utilised their lone scoring chance.
The former Enyimba International FC coach said: “We have a problem in the midfield.
“Two of our midfielders are injured and we have to experiment with the ones we have.
“But we will continue to work at it because we have just resumed.
“The transfer market is still on.
“But you don’t go to the market with an empty hand.”
Ikhana however said the club’s stakeholders were aware of the situation in 3SC, adding that the team’s performance would improve as the competition progresses.
Ikhana, who described the officiating of NPFL matches in recent times as good, said his team was poised to put in its best to achieve the best.
On his part, Coach Godwin Uwua of Lobi Stars said his team won because they did not throw all their eggs in one basket.
Uwua added that he had been away for a long time and his return should not be taken for granted.
He said: “We must not make noise.
“We now have a new government in Benue and a new board and management at the club.
“Mike Idoko (the club’s manager) and I have been in the system for long.”
