NPFL: Flying Eagles players return for Sharks against Heartland

Nigeria U20 national team midfielder, Chidi Osuchukwu, may return on Thursday against Heartland as he has been training with the team since Saturday.
Osuchukwu a key player with Dolphins for three seasons now, was on duty with the U20s at the Africa Youth Championships and returned to Port Harcourt after Flying Eagles qualified for the World Cup.
Another player that may make his return to the starting lineup is former Hanoi T and T striker, Ifeanyi Onuigbo, who sat out the game against Sharks as he was suspended.
“If both players return to the starting lineup on Thursday against Heartland, they will help in our quest to beat the Owerri-based side,” Media Officer of Dolphins, China Acheru, said.
“Osuchukwu is very tricky and he plays on the wings or in the centre of midfield and we all know Onuigbo’s all action style will keep opposing defenders busy as long as he remains on the pitch.”
Meanwhile, the General Manager of Dolphins Football Club, Dumbo Awanen, says he is a happy man following the achievements of three players of the club.
Abduljeleel Ajagun, Chidi Osuchukwu and Chizoba Amaefule.
All the Dolphins players were part of the Nigerian U20 national team that qualified for the World Cup to be played later in the year in Turkey.
Awanen said: “Three players from Dolphins were not just part of the team they held vital positions in the team as captain and the other two assistant captains.
“Aside that, they may not have won the Africa Championships but they did the most important thing which was to qualify the team for the World Cup and they were ever present in matches played by the team.
“Ajagun was inspirational as captain, Osuchukwu was a menace on the wings while Chizoba was rock solid in central defence.
“We are proud of them.
“What they did for the country and how they represented the club well.
“Now, we want them to come and replicate same for the club as we continue in our quest to win a trophy this season.”
