The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted cloudy to partly cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Friday.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook issued by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday.
It said the region would have day and night temperatures of 30 to 36 degrees Celsius and 14 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy to partly cloudy in inland and coast cities with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Calabar, Eket and Port-Harcourt in the morning hours.
It also predicted isolated thunderstorms over the region in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperature of 33 to 35 degrees Celsius and 22 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, the northern states will be under sunny and hazy conditions with chances of dust haze over Kano, Katsina and Nguru.
It added that the dust haze might reduce horizontal visibility between 2 to 5 kilometres.
NiMet predicted: “The region will also have day and night time temperatures of 37 to 39 degrees Celsius and 16 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively.
“The North is expected to be sunny and hazy, central states will experience cloudy to partly cloudy conditions with chances of isolated thunderstorms over the south in the next 24 hours.”
