The Nigeria Football Federation is set to unban prominent members of the country’s football family.
Rising from its executive board meeting on Thursday, the Mike Umeh-led NFF received the report of the Effiong Johnson-led sub-committee set up to review lengthy bans on prominent members of the Nigeria football family: Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, Chief Rumson Baribote, Barrister Olaleye Adepoju, Jarrett Tenebe, Harrison Jalla, Ahmed Shuaibu-Gara, Chikelue Iloanusi and Olajide Fashikun.
The NFF said a decision will be taken on the report at the next Executive Committee meeting.
Ogunjobi, who is aspiring to be the president of the NFF, Baribote and others were slammed with two and three-year ban by the ousted NFF President, Aminu Maigari, for various allegations levelled against them.
Meanwhile, the NFF board members hailed the tremendous contributions of former NFA Executive Committee member, late Dr. Ayo Bello, who died in Ilorin, Kwara State on July 31, 2014.
A minute’s silence was observed in Bello’s memory.
