The Nigeria Football Federation may as a matter of urgency appoint a new manager for former African champions, Super Eagles.
Rising from its Executive Committee meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, the NFF gave a deadline for the appointment.
It mandated its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to, within the next five days, make recommendations on the coaching crew for the Super Eagles.
The sub-committee was also charged to advice on the CHAN team, U20 Boys (Flying Eagles) and U17 Boys (Golden Eaglets) technical crews ahead of upcoming assignments.
The move, according to a communique issued and made available, is to ensure preparations for the next qualifying tournaments and championships commence in earnest.
The Executive Committee tendered unreserved apology to the Federal Government and the people of Nigeria for the inability of the Super Eagles to win a ticket to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
It praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his personal presence and apologised that the team faltered in the quest for a ticket to Qatar.
The NFF commended, appreciated and applauded the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, for his steadfastness, exemplary leadership and warm relationship with the NFF since assuming office and especially for the FIFA World Cup playoff matches.
