The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control is partnering with Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda’s Arise Monalisa Foundation in the quest to create awareness in fighting the scourge of uterine fibroid threatening Nigerian women. NAFDAC’s Director General, Paul Orhii, confirmed the partnership.
Orhii, while speaking in Abuja, said: “We are proud to partner with Monalisa’s foundation in mobilising this timely project throughout the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria and to also flag off our projects for this year.”
Also speaking in the same vein, the mulatto actress said: “It is in giving our lives away that we find meaning.
“We appreciate NAFDAC for this strategic partnership as we look forward to propagating awareness of this fast spreading yet widely neglected uterine fibroid, which has become very common among women due to ignorance and stigmatization.”
