The “Osu Ajiri” of Udege Chiefdom in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Halilu Bala-Usman has urged Nigerians to live peacefully, irrespective of tribe or religion faith for development to thrive.
Bala- Usman made the call Wednesday while celebrating his 80th birthday in Nasarawa, Nasarawa Local Government Area of the North central State.
The first class traditional ruler pointed out that love, peace and tolerance were critical for societal development, hence the need for Nigerians to imbibe such virtues.
“The importance of unity and peace to societal development cannot be overemphasized.
“Peace is priceless and non negotiable, it is a necessary requirement for the development of any society.
“It is in view of this that I want to call on my subjects and other Nigerians to show love, embrace peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations,” he said.
While appreciating God’s protection over his life for the past 80 years, Bala- Usman also thanked his subjects and other well wishers for celebrating with him.
He equally called on the people to support government policies and programmes in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa Local Government Area Sani Otto has congratulated the first class monarchy.
“We will continue to pray for good and sound health to our father,” he said.
Otto prayed God to protect and bless the traditional ruler abundantly, while pledging his support at all times. NAN
