Messi guns for record, Arsenal desperate for Everton win

Again all eyes will be on Lionel Messi on Wednesday night when Barcelona takes on Alaves in a Copa dey Rey at Nou Camp.
The Argentine striker struck twice as Barcelona won 4-0 at Levante on Sunday to remain three points clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga.
The Argentine’s brace means he now has 82 goals in 2012, just three short of German legend Gerd Mueller’s all-time calendar record set in 1972.
He also tops the La Liga charts for the season with 19 goals.
Hope is high that the free scoring striker can get on the scorer’s sheet against Alaves and eventually break Mueller’s record.
In England, matches will continue in the English Premier League on Wednesday night.
Following their lacklustre performance at the Villa Park on Saturday, Arsenal will be desperate for a win in Wednesday’s trip to Goodison Park as guest of Everton.
A stubborn Aston Villa side prevented Arsène Wenger’s team from picking up their third successive win at the weekend.
