The Lagos State Government on Friday said it would appeal the ruling of a
Lagos High Court which declared the appointment of caretaker committees of local government councils in the state illegal and unconstitutional.
Reacting to the judgement, the state Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Adeniji Kazeem, faulted the judgment.
Kazeem said the state will file a Stay of Execution and appeal against the verdict immediately.
The Attorney General, who expressed confidence that the State Government will prevail on Appeal, also urged residents to remain calm as there is no cause for alarm.
