Governor Ambode spoke at the Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja when he received members of the State’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team, led by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adeniji Kazeem.

The Governor, who spoke through the Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello, at the 3rd Lagos State Emergency and Disaster Preparedness summit, with the theme: “Promoting and Sustaining Integrated Response to Emergencies within the Golden Hour,” said his administration would also apply sanctions as may be deemed necessary to those who run foul of the provisions.
Governor Ambode, who spoke when he received the One-Day Governor of the State, Zuffon Bukola, and members of her cabinet at the Exco Chambers, Lagos House in Ikeja, said that the emergence of Zuffon and the One-Day Deputy Governor, Rosemary Ogidan was a signpost to what the future portends for the State.
Others include: the removal of existing Pedestrian Bridge at Ajao Estate and construction of Pedestrian Bridges at Ajao Estate and NAHCO/Hajj Camp, construction of Slip Road to provide access to Ajao Estate, construction of Lay-bys and installation of Street Lights, among others.
Ambode said the newly-elected political heads in all the 57 Local Councils in Lagos must identify with the culture of good governance already exemplified by his administration where adequate attention is being paid to the needs of people at the grassroots.
The government, in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Hon. Muslim Folami, said the decision to shut down the market was based on the fact that it had become a security threat as well as a hideout for hoodlums who attack innocent citizens and commuters in the area.
The Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, in a statement said the project will improve the aesthetics and security of the environment, while attracting investments in water transportation and boosting socio-economic activities in the axis, with the provision of shopping malls and related infrastructures.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Oluwatoyin Suarau, made this known at the stakeholders meeting with representatives of the Lagos State Butchers Association, Eko Refrigerated Meat Van Association, Apapa Park Transporter and Sheep and Goat Butchers Association.
Ambode spoke at the State House in Alausa while playing host to 21 students of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, who are in Lagos State on a one-week exchange programme.
Ambode had on May 29, 2016, set up the Persons Living with Disabilities Empowerment Fund with N500 million for their welfare.
Recently appointed Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Public Works and Drainages, Engr. Temidayo Erinle, who reeled out the roadmap at a press briefing held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, said in the coming days, the State Government, through the Public Works Corporation, would carry out rehabilitation works on 43 major link roads across the State, while other major highways and arterial roads found to be in bad state would be fixed.
Governor Ambode said this at a dinner held at the Lagos House in Ikeja in honour of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, who was on a two-day working visit to the State.
Governor Ambode, who led some members of the State Executive Council, lawmakers and other critical stakeholders to a meeting at the NERC’s headquarters in Abuja, said the embedded power project was designed as his administration’s flagship programme for direct intervention in the power value chain towards achieving 24-hour power for Lagos.
The Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Education, Obafela Bank-Olemoh, in a statement on Friday said the originating processes and motion on notice for interlocutory injunction have been served on the three unions in the school.
Ambode made the request when the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House in Ikeja.
