The Kwara chapter of Labour Party has suspended Hakeem Amao, its governorship aspirant in the state.
The state Chairman of the party, Johnson Babalola, announced the suspension on Thursday at a press briefing in Ilorin.
Babalola said that the indefinite suspension was with immediate effect.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the aspirant dragged the party to court over his replacement by Dr. Mike Omotosho as the party’s candidate for the election.
Omotosho defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the Labour Party after losing the PDP primary election for Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Mike Omotosho Campaign Organisation, Ayo Idowu, has described as “unfounded” the speculation making the round that Omotosho is an employee of the Federal Government.
Idowu explained that Omotosho only worked as consultant on health services to the Federal Government.
