Barcelona’s lead in the Spanish La Liga has been further eroded after a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo.
It was the second time that the Catalan team would stumble.
Last week, they were held by Valencia.
And on Saturday, they drew level with Celta Vigo at Camp Nou, giving their nearest challengers a chance to move closer to the top.
They now have a five-point lead over second-place Valencia, which play at mid-table Getafe on Sunday.
The lead can fall to two points if Valencia win.
Third-place Atletico Madrid and fourth-place Real Madrid are nine points behind the Catalan club ahead of their games later Saturday.
Atletico host Real Sociedad and Real Madrid play at Athletic Bilbao.
“It’s tough to lose points at home in such an important game,” Barcelona midfielder Paulinho said. “We had plenty of chances but we didn’t take advantage of them.”
Barcelona had won 11 of their 13 league matches entering the weekend.
Their other setbacks in the league this season were draws at Atletico Madrid and at Valencia last week.
They hadn’t lost points at home in 18 straight league matches since a 1-1 draw against rival Real Madrid nearly a year ago.
