Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested five suspected kidnappers who fled to Lagos after collecting money for ransom and phone from their victim.
The Eagle Online was reliably informed that the kidnappers were made up of one female and four males.
The suspects were identified as Idris Ashafa (M), 33; Abdullahi Adamu (M), 27; Oyonu Moshe (M), 25; Muhammad Maadi (M), 33; and one Aisa Issa (F), 22.
According to information available to The Eagle Online: “A man identified as Bello Muhammad had reported his wife missing to the Ifo Police Division and during the course of investigation, it was discovered that a Tecno POP 6 handset belonging to the victim was equally stolen.
“In swift response to the report, detectives from the Police division in collaboration with the Command TIU recovered the victim’s phone which led to the arrest of the five suspects at Iju/Agege Area of Lagos State.
“Some amount of foreign currencies which were suspected to be part of the proceeds of crime were also recovered from the suspects and the exhibits together with the case file will be transferred to SCID for necessary action.”

The spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the development to The Eagle Online.
Odutola, a Superintendent of Police, said the suspects would have their day in court once the investigation was over.
