Some of Nigeria’s players who are yet to feature in the ongoing Championship of African Nations may have their opportunity in Saturday’s third place encounter against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
Heartland of Owerri’s shot stopper and Eagles second choice at the tournament, Daniel Akpeyi, may be called upon to stand between the poles as Coach Stephen Keshi must have concluded plans to make changes due to the less importance attached to classifications matches.
Also, Sharks of Port Harcourt’s Dumte Pyagbara is expected to be in action after playing the last few minutes of Nigeria’s semi final clash against Ghana.
Another player, who may likely be given a chance is Christian Obiozor.
The Rangers International of Enugu striker, who made his national team debut in a friendly international against Lebanon late last year, is yet to feature at this tournament.
Nigeria’s third place clash against Zimbabwe comes up at 5pm on Saturday in Cape Town.
