Out of contract Super Eagles’ gaffer, Stephen Keshi, has finally arrived ahead of next weekend’s AFCON 2015 qualifier against the Red Devils of Congo in Calabar, Cross River State.
The Big boss, who arrived Lagos aboard a KLM Airline flight on Friday evening, told The Eagle Online that his immediate plan is to meet with the Sports Minister, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, and the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation in Abuja to finalise arrangements ahead of the game in Calabar.
Keshi told The Eagle Online: “I’m happy to return home after a wonderful rest with my family in the States.
“Now that I’m back, we have to move in full swing for the match in Calabar.
“We must double our speed now to ensure the Super Eagles win the game against Congo.
“I have been talking with the players and they are all aware of the importance attached to this game.
“We are African Champions and we must qualify to defend our title in Morocco.
“So, I will be meeting the Minister and some other officials in Abuja to steady the ship of the team ahead of Saturday.”
Keshi, a free agent, was prevailed on by the Senate President, Senator David Mark, and Danagogo to guide the Super Eagles in their AFCON 2015 qualify double header against Congo and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
The gaffer is close to signing an improved deal with Nigeria after the games in Calabar and South Africa.
