Kefee’s memorial concert holds

On Thursday (today), fans, friends across Nigeria and in Africa will gather at Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos, Nigeria for the first memorial concert in honour of the late popular female gospel musician, the Branama Queen, Irikefe Don-Momoh.

The event, which is tagged: “An evening with Kefee,” will witness artistes perform some of Kefee’s hit songs and dances.

also included in the package are comedy and word exposition.

Some of the artistes expected at the event include Sammie Okposo, Nikki Laoye, Lady X (South Africa), Elenae (Ghana), Timaya, Anny Ibrahim, Cynthia Morgan, Duncan Mighty, Vector and Nomorelos.

The event will be hosted by On Air Personality, Sabina, and seasoned comedian, MC Abbey.

Speaking on the event, Kefee’s hubby, Teddy Don-Momoh, explained that the choice of the Daystar Christian Centre auditorium as venue was because the church was willing to host her memorial concert and celebrate one of their of own.

Don-Momoh also said the choice of February 5 is because the date was always special to his late wife.

He said: “That is actually the day she was born and she was always giving birth to new projects, new things on that day.

“Her special kitchen, foundation and all albums are always launched on her birthday.

“So that is why we decided to continue with the tradition in her name.”

Don-Momoh further noted that a new album and DVDs of her recent works will be launched at the event as well.

He added: “Apart from honouring her with our presence, we will be having albums launched.

“Albums in terms of DVD of her collection of her video as well as other half of the double album she wanted to release before death came calling.

“She had planned to release two albums titled: ‘The Beautiful and Chorus Leader.’

“She was able to release Chorus Leader but The Beautiful album will be dropped by God’s grace come February 5.

“We would also have The Best of Both Worlds.

“The Best of Both Worlds is the combination of Chorus Leader and The Beautiful, but this time on DVD and the event will be an annual event affair.”
