Girona has confirmed a season-long loan deal with Manchester City for striker Olarenwaju ‘Larry’ Kayode.
The 24-year-old only joined the Citizens on Thursday from Austria Wien after being top goalscorer in Austria with 17 league goals last season.
Formerly of Swiss side Luzern and Maccabi Netanya of Israel, Kayode is the fifth loan arrive in Catalonia from City this summer following deals for Aleix Garcia, Pablo Maffeo, Marlos Moreno and Douglas Luiz.
City have developed a strong relationship with Girona and the latest deal comes days after Pep Guardiola’s squad returned from a warm-weather training camp in the Catalan city.
Their stay included a friendly against Girona, who conducted some of their own pre-season preparations at the City Football Academy in Manchester.
