Judicial workers call for the release of abducted Judge

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria on Wednesday demanded for the unconditional release of the Kogi State High Court Judge, Justice Samuel Obayomi, ‎who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Monday in Okene Local Government Area of the state.

The National Publicity Secretary of JUSUN, Comrade Kayode Agbarago, made the demand while speaking with journalists in Abuja.

The Union, Agbarago stated, views the abduction of Justice Obayomi as unfortunate, considering the fact that he (Obayomi) suffered a ghastly motor accident and was just resuming work when the ugly incident occurred.

The JUSUN image maker warned that if something urgent is not done to decisively deal with the situation, other judges handling high profile cases may be intimidated with a view to forcing them to hands off such matters.

He appealed to the various security agencies to live up to expectation by ensuring that the the judge is freed while perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book so as to serve as deterrent to others.

While harping on the need for the total overhauling of the security apparatus in the country, the JUSUN PRO urged Federal Government and the Kogi State government to fish out those holding the judge.

The Eagle Online recalls that gunmen on Monday kidnapped Justice Obayomi and killed his orderly, Corporal Usman Musa, during an early mornin‎g abduction.

Obayomi is of the Ebogogo High Court in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

He was kidnapped while on his way to work.
