The President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has summoned an emergency meeting on how to contain the spread of the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria.
The meeting is to hold at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Informed sources said Jonathan had to cancel a scheduled trip to Owerri, the Imo State capital, to chair the meeting.
One of those who was summoned to the meeting early on Friday was the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu.
So far, two persons have died in Nigeria from the Ebola virus.
The first being a Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, and the nurse who treated him.
Chukwu is expected to brief the press after the meeting.
Chukwu had since the beginning of the week been providing regular updates on the virus in the country.
