Ahead of the rescheduled general elections, President Goodluck Jonathan has commenced series of meetings with all categories of candidates flying the Peoples Democratic Party’s flag.
To kick-start the series of meetings aimed at strategising ahead of the polls, the President on Monday night met with all governors elected on the platform of the PDP and governorship candidates.
The meeting was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
President Jonathan, who earlier in the day dropped the hint about the meetings, said the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Dr. Ahmadu Ali, would announce the dates for the remaining meetings.
However, it is expected that the next meeting will be with National Assembly candidates.
It was gathered that in the days to come, the President will hold such consultations with different segments of the party with a view to evolving strategies that could give the party victory at the polls.
