President Goodluck Jonathan has applauded Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah’s single-minded dedication to the service of God and the well-being of his country men, women and children.
In a congratulatory letter to Bishop Kukah on the occasion of his 61st birthday, President Jonathan wished him many more years of good health and fulfilment in the service of God and humanity.
Jonathan wrote: “On behalf of my family, the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I congratulate you as you mark your 61st birthday anniversary on Saturday, the 31st of August, 2013.
“I join your family, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you in the past 61 years of a life marked by single-minded dedication to the service of God and the good of our common humanity.
“I wish you a very happy birthday and many more years of abounding health and enduring fulifilment.”
Outspoken and frank Bishop Kukah is the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto.
