Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has described former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as a pragmatic politician.
Babangida, while hailing President Jonathan on his 61st birthday, describing the former Nigerian leader as a hero.
In his birthday message to former President Jonathan, General Babangida said: “President Jonathan has set a record as the first Africa leader to concede defeat in a National elections.”
The former Military leader also hailed Jonathan for his commitment to the principles of democracy, adding: “It is worthy of emulation.
“President Jonathan demonstrated absolute leadership by example through his capabilities on playing the game of politics by obeying the rules ahead of time.”
He commended President Jonathan for writing his memoirs: “My transition hours,” as part of his birthday activities.
General Babangida on behalf of himself and his entire family wished former President Jonathan happy birthday and more fruitful years ahead.
