A Grade I Area Court sitting in Dei Dei, Abuja, on Friday sentenced a 35-year-old unemployed man, Azeez Ganium, to seven months imprisonment for stealing two bags of cement.
The Judge, Malam Saminu Suleiman, sentenced him after he pleaded guilty to the offence of theft.
Suleiman gave the convict an option of N20,000 fine.

The Prosecution Counsel, Chinedu Ogada, had earlier told the court that the convict on December 18, 2023 stole two bags of cement belonging to Ikepeama Uchenna of Byazhin, Abuja.
He said the convict stole the cement from Uchenna’s building site close to Godfather hotel, Byazhin.
The offence, she said, contravened the provisions of section 287 of the Penal Code.
