Jigawa LG chairman’s suspension: Investigation committee submits report

The committee set up by the Jigawa State Government to investigate the cause of the misunderstanding between Alhaji Nasidi Abdullahi, the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Sule Tankarkar Local Government Council, and the Secretary, Malam Muhammad Abubakar, has submitted its report.

This was contained in a statement issued by Malam Isma’il Ibrahim, the Public Relations Officer, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji AbdulKadir Fanini, in Dutse on Friday.

The Jigawa State Government had on July 22 announced the suspension of the two political office holders as a result of the misunderstanding between them.

Subsequently, the government set up a committee to look into the cause of the misunderstanding.

According to the statement, while presenting the report to the SSG, the Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Garba Muhammad, said the committee had thoroughly investigated the cause of the misunderstanding.

It quoted Muhammad as saying further that the committee had come up with appropriate recommendations, as directed by the state government.

The statement quoted Muhammad as pointing out that the committee had examined the records of the affected LGA from the time the caretaker committee assumed office.

It said that while receiving the report, the SSG commended the committee for a job well done and assured the members that the government would study the report carefully, for proper implementation.
