Irish man arrested for touting tickets

An Irish man is being detained in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil on suspicion of ticket touting.
Brazillian newspaper Estadao is reporting that Irish citizen, Kevin James Marlen, was arrested on Friday at a hotel near the Maracana stadium where the opening ceremony  of the Olympic Games took place.
Marlen faces charges of illegally selling tickets at above face value for the the ceremony.
He has been refused bail and is being held in a detention centre. A search of his possessions has been ordered by the Judge in the case.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance.
