The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger state Chapter has called on the Federal Government FG to improve the welfare of all security agencies to boost their morale.
The State’s CAN Chairman, Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna made the call during a familiarization visit to Niger Commissioner of Police, CP Monday B. Kuryas at the Police Headquarters, Minna, the capital city.
Yohanna appealed to Nigerians to continue to support the security agencies with prayers.
Most Rev. Yohanna who is also the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese commended the Police and other security agencies for their roles in tackling the insurgency that have ravaged parts of the state.
According to him “I commend the entire security apparatus for your untiring efforts in tackling the insecurity.
“I want to appeal to the governments at all levels to improve the welfare of all security agencies and to equip them well so they can be well motivated to carry out their duties”.
The Bishop further urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the Police and other security agencies so that we can all overcome the insecurity challenges that have bedevilled the country.
In his remarks, the State’s CP charged Christians to continue to pray for the nation and the Niger state.
Accordingly, he charged “you should be a vigilante, watch and pray for the security and unity of our country”.
