Stephen Keshi has joined the race for the vacant position of the coach of the Black Stars of Ghana.
Keshi said the Black Strs can win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations under his stewardship.
The tactician’s rein with the Super Eagles came to an end earlier this month after his strained relationship with the Nigerian Football Federation reached its peak, following just one win from the side’s opening four AFCON qualifiers.
Keshi is not looking to waste any time in finding new employment, though, and has made his intentions clear in regards to the Black Stars job, which is currently up for grabs following the sacking of Kwesi Appiah in September.
“Of course if I get the chance to coach the (Ghana) team, the target will be the African Cup of Nations,” said Keshi, who led Nigeria to AFCON glory in 2013.
“The country has not won the (AFCON) title in a long time (1982) and I know Ghanaians are desirous of winning the cup.
“But like I said, we have to look at getting the job first. I want to coach the team if the opportunity is there.”
