‘He’s wack, no talent,’ Wizkid takes another swipe at Davido, ignites fresh feud

The long-standing rivalry between Afrobeats stars Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, and David Adeleke, a.k.a. Davido, has again been re-ignited, with the two artistes engaging in a fresh war of words on social media.

The latest spat erupted on Tuesday a few months after the duo had clashed on X.com, with Wizkid previously mocking Davido and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, in May.

At the time, Wizkid dismissed Don Jazzy as an “influencer” and shared a video of Davido on his knees, pleading for new music.

However, the drama resurfaced on Tuesday after Davido teased a snippet of his first single for 2024.

Coincidentally, Wizkid had also been set to release the first track of his much-anticipated “Morayo” album on the same day.

Tensions escalated when Davido’s associate, Kayode Yajaur, otherwise known as Black Tycoone, seemingly mocked Wizkid over the delay in his album release, tweeting, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already.”

Wizkid, unfazed by the comment, took to his X handle to throw shade at Davido’s camp, writing, “P***y boys dropping mid again,” followed by, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small!”

While he did not mention Davido by name, fans were quick to interpret the post as a jab at the ‘Fem’ crooner.

In defence of Davido, a fan hit back at Wizkid, accusing him of chasing clout by roping Davido into his online drama. “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?” the user tweeted.

Wizkid responded swiftly, denying that he was clout-chasing and attacking Davido’s talent. “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!” he fired back.

Wizkid continued the tirade, dismissing Davido’s body of work as “trash” and bragging about his own superior musical prowess. “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys!” he added.

Despite the harsh words, Davido has remained silent, choosing not to engage publicly in the ongoing feud.

Meanwhile, the back-and-forth has generated several reactions on social media, with fans and celebrities weighing in on the feud.

While some have criticized Wizkid for reigniting the rivalry, others are keen to see if Davido will finally respond.
