A call has gone to those who have the financial buoyancy in the society to help those who are under privileged and the have nots so as to help eradicate poverty in the society.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State made the call in Abeokuta on Tuesday at the International stakeholder’s conference on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs 2018 and the investiture of United Nations SDG Champion.
The Governor who disclosed that we must promote inclusive growth happiness especially for the have nots assured of his government commitment to support the lofty initiative.
Governor Amosun noted that total dependence on oil will not do us any good adding that “we need to diversify our economy and create wealth for our people”.
Governor Amosun who eulogised and congratulated the three UN SDG Champions, Tunde Kelani, Wasiu Ayinde and Dr. Olufunso Amosun for a well-deserved honour charged them to do more for humanity.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of SDG Programs, Dr. Tola Winjobi, who said the mantra of the SDG is to leave no one behind, assured that the vision would be achieved thanking the Ogun State Government for its support.
