The General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, has charged newly promoted and decorated senior officers of the Division to redouble efforts in the service of the nation.
Lagbaja gave the charge on Wednesday while decorating three Colonels in the Division promoted to Brigadier General.
The GOC, who is also the Force Commander, Operation Whirl Punch, said they should contribute more positively to the system and inspire their subordinates.
“You must redouble your efforts and brace up for more tasks as promotion comes with higher responsibilities,” Lagbaja added.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the newly promoted officers were Brigadier General OO Ejere, Deputy Chief of Staff Training and Operations; Brigadier General AD Aliyu, Director, 1 Division Education Services; and Brigadier General AHB Jibril, the Commander 1 Division Provost Group.
Ejere, who responded on behalf of the promoted officers, pledged their unalloyed and continuous loyalty to the Nigerian Army and Commander-in-Chief.
He thanked the Commander-in-Chief, Army Council and Chief of Army Staff for finding them worthy for promotion.
The event was attended by Formation Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, Senior Officers, family members and well wishers of the newly promoted officers.
